Sometimes the best businesses start with a simple, relatable problem. For Karin Monfredo — known to her friends as Pixie—it was this: she wanted a bag that could keep up with her life, and actually look good doing it.
Not just mom-bag good. Really good. Cool enough that her kids wouldn’t cringe and her husband would approve.
So she did what any determined woman would do. She found a beat-up construction tool bag, fell in love with its bones, and started sourcing materials, taking sewing lessons, and figuring out how to launch a business — all while raising three young boys.
Five years later, George & Dino is the real deal. The line has grown from bags to beaded jewelry, hat bands, and clutches, spanning everything from the book-tote-sized Hunk and the classic Tank to the Jumbo weekender. G&D is even the proud designer of Lisa’s Book Club Tote — made for our very own emcee, Lisa Donovan of Kiss 108’s Billy and Lisa in the Morning.
Karin’s aesthetic is unmistakable: bold color, one-of-a-kind finds, and pieces made for a full life.
We’re so glad she’s part of Fashion for Compassion 2026. (And by “part of it,” we mean she’s producing the entire fashion show!)
