I have had the pleasure of working in many different settings with a variety of populations and ages. I have spent the majority of my career as a therapist in crisis intervention and emergency services program. Over the last 7 years, I have worked with women’s groups in a local homeless shelter, worked within a crisis stabilization unit and provided adult community clinical services to my own caseload of clients.

My goal as a clinician is to provide you with a safe space to explore, process, and begin healing. My holistic approach in my clinical work is to get a sense of the person as a whole as I believe everything is connected. Humans are complex beings with many factors that contribute to our struggles and therefore our healing!

I enjoy bridging the gap between clinical and holistic practices offering alternative healings such as Reiki. I have been practicing Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and Seichem healing since 2017.

I would be honored to support you on your healing journey whatever stage you’re in!

OUTPATIENT THERAPIST

Welcome. Making the decision to begin or resume therapy can be difficult. Congratulations on taking this step towards your healing.

I believe that healing can mean many different things to many different people. As a therapist, I seek to support you in getting to know yourself better – what are your personal values, your goals, your dreams? What would you like your life to look like? Together, we can co-create a nonjudgmental, safe, and collaborative therapeutic space that gives rise to and shapes some of the answers to these questions.

As a certified whole foods chef, yoga teacher, and Health and Wellness coach my perspective on mental health is holistic. The thoughts we think, the feelings we experience, the ways in which we care for our bodies, the environments we are immersed in, and the relationships we cultivate all have the power to nourish us. I hope to empower you to nourish yourself in the ways that feel personally meaningful to you. As a therapist, I am also committed to practicing counseling from an intersectional lens that honors the diverse identities that you embody and new identities that you are curious to explore.

I look forward to meeting you – congratulations again on starting your therapy journey.

The most important thing to me is helping clients to feel heard and to foster a relationship where we can share and grow together. Healing and growing are not only about facing past trauma and pain, but are also about celebrating the strengths that have enabled us to get through. In our work together, we will partner together to help navigate life’s challenges.

I have worked with Maria Droste Counseling Services in New York City and I am excited to join the Quincy, MA team.

I believe that being a mental health counselor is centered on respect, empathy, acceptance, and the celebration of the unique individual. Counseling is a second career for me, having spent 25+ years as a dance educator, choreographer, and performer. I left the field to concentrate on being a stay-at-home mother for 10 years and subsequently during my master’s degree training worked as a counselor for young adults on the autism spectrum. As a therapist, I understand the perspective of a parent and am interested in the dynamics that keep both an individual and a family healthy. I believe that my experiences as an educator and a mother inform my therapeutic practice.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. My background as an expressive arts therapist allows me to access, through stretches and simple movements, the stressors that can become stuck in our bodies, and alleviate that tension. Relaxation in the body promotes mental health and relaxation in the mind.

As a counselor, I am person-centered, meeting the client where they are. My work is strengths-based, creative, and intuitive, exploring the breath, mindfulness, and identifying a support system so clients can feel empowered and uplifted. It is my joy to be a companion to clients on their journey toward wellness.

I believe that mental health counseling is beneficial not only for people who are experiencing acute mental or emotional distress, but also for people who are dealing with everyday problems. Therapy can assist people in better coping with life's stresses, recognizing their abilities, being happier in their relationships, and contributing more to their community. I also believe that who we are is a constantly evolving process. My goal is to support you on your journey and to foster a safe space where you can tell your own story and share your struggles.

As a practitioner with training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I recognize that the human mind consists of different "parts" or sub-personalities that frequently disagree, conflict, or cause problems in our lives. If you want to explore your inner selves, I can help you in welcoming different parts of yourself to share their experiences with you so that you can become more self-aware and better understand the roles these parts play in your inner system to promote healing and change. I apply the IFS modality when working with both individual adults and couples.

OUTPATIENT THERAPIST

Hello! You’ve made it. You’ve taken the first step to start or restart therapy and you should feel proud to have made it this far. As your therapist I will provide you with a safe space to express yourself, including the good, the bad, and everything in between. I want you to know that you are not alone. I will be an integral part of your support system while we navigate your path to self-fulfillment. I emphasize starting with achieving small goals that result in long term stability. I believe it is important to acknowledge that change takes time. As we work towards your goals, we will respect a realistic timeline, define and create a safe space and explore what supports we have in place and where we may need more. By working together, using honest and clear communication, I believe we can develop an individualized definition of well-being.

As a mental health counselor, I strive to apply psychological theories and techniques in a digestible and realistic way to each person that I partner with. Everyone brings with them their own history, challenges and desired outcomes that deserve an individualized approach. I have a wealth of important experience helping adults, youth and couples both at Maria Droste and as an emergency mental health crisis counselor in the Greater Boston Area. I am looking forward to learning how my clinical expertise can best serve you.

Outpatient Therapist

As a mental health counselor, I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor is of the utmost importance in achieving the goals of my clients. Counseling is a second career for me, having spent over 20 years in fundraising and event planning. The field of mental health has always felt like a calling for me, and I am honored to be able to bring my life experiences and recent training into the work I do with clients.

I believe everyone possesses strengths, and I approach counseling with a focus on helping my clients identify and highlight their strengths. I use a person-centered approach, leaning toward a family systems lens, as I believe that family members influence one another’s behaviors, as do early childhood experiences. My goal as a counselor is to help my clients tap into their strengths and feel empowered to achieve their goals. My intent will always be to show my clients respect and acceptance, while providing a judgement-free space in which they can gain the most out of the therapeutic experience.

I enjoy working with individuals, both adults and children, and couples and families from all ages and across all cultures.
