Event Speakers

EMCEE: Lisa Donovan

Lisa Donovan

We are thrilled to introduce Lisa Donovan as the emcee for our upcoming event!

Lisa's path to radio is anything but conventional. After a decade in public relations — including roles as Senior Manager of Public Relations for Coach Inc. in New York City and Vice President of Kortenhaus Communications in Boston — she brought her expertise in lifestyle brands and communications to the airwaves, joining the beloved Matty in the Morning and co-headlining her own show, Billy & Lisa in the Morning.

Beyond radio, Lisa is the founder of Lisa's Book Club, a passion project now two years strong that brings free author events to New England communities. With guests like Elin Hilderbrand, Mel Robbins, Ben Mezrich, Caroline Kepnes, and Lisa Genova, the club has become a beloved literary gathering — and a proud partner of Raising A Reader Massachusetts.

When she's not on air or talking books, Lisa is hitting the slopes, the golf course, or the running path. A proud South Shore resident, she is mom to two boys, Max and Riley, and their beloved labradoodle, Ruby.

Keynote Speaker: Liam Martin

Liam Martin

We are honored to introduce Liam Martin as the speaker for our upcoming event!

Liam is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and passionate mental health advocate. He uses his platform to encourage open conversations—especially among men—about mental health challenges. You can read more about that in Liam’s article for Boston Magazine. Throughout his 15-year career in television news, he anchored for WBZ-TV, reported for WCVB-TV, and covered everything from major tragedies to historic moments, always leading with empathy and authenticity.

Now, as co-owner of Newsmaker, Liam continues his commitment to impactful storytelling. Beyond his work, he is a dedicated husband and father, a youth sports coach, and an avid Boston sports fan.

We are grateful to have Liam bring his voice, passion, and advocacy to our event!

Karen Donnellan

Karen Donnellan HS

We are deeply honored to introduce Karen Donnellan as a speaker for our upcoming event.

Karen is a Board Member of Maria Droste Counseling Services. Her commitment to this mission is both personal and profound.

In September 2025, Karen laced up her shoes and embarked on an extraordinary 400-mile pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago — walking from Lisbon, Portugal to Santiago, Spain — in memory of her beloved brother, Robert, whose life was lost to suicide in 2023 at the age of 59. Each step of the journey was walked with deep intention, love, and purpose: to honor Robert's life, to raise awareness about men's mental health, and to ensure that others know help is within reach before it's too late.

As Karen has said, "The stigma surrounding mental illness silences far too many, and the consequences are devastating." Her walk shone a powerful light on the silent struggles so many men face — and the critical need for accessible mental health care and open, honest conversation.

Through her Camino journey, Karen raised funds to support expanded access to therapy for men and boys, mental health awareness initiatives, and the hiring of more clinicians to meet rising demand.

We are grateful to have Karen share her story, her heart, and her advocacy with us.
